Why is it important to take part in AML World Awareness Day 2023? Reason two

March 11, 2023

We asked some of our Know AML Ambassadors, Charles Craddock, Ralph Hills, and Anna Mamwell, why it is important to take part in AML World Awareness Day 2023. In response, they each share their first-hand experience of AML and the importance of AML World Awareness Day to them.

First, Ralph reflects on when he was diagnosed with AML 9 years ago, “when the standard of care was not very new” and shares his opinion on how AML World Awareness Day provides valuable information to patients and caregivers. Next, Anna shares how AML World Awareness Day has enabled her to find people around the world that have the same experiences as her and how the support they provide each other is “amazing.” Lastly, Charles comments on the significant progress that has been made in treatment, particularly in younger adults and children with AML.
